of Bhilwara distric and belongs to indegineous rural culture named as Ahar Culture,so
far very little is known about this copper age culture which dates back to around
3000 BC.
This culture spread from Ahar in the west to Eran in the east and Ajmer in the

on pottery and structural avidences. The first settlement at this site was of
cultivaters who prefered this hillock by low lying fertile land for the settlement.
As such there is no evidence of complete house plan but while excavation at

that the housed here were built with the sun dried mud bricks. There are evidences
of using stones as the building materials the only structure exposed is a granary
where wheat was stored.
A big saddle quern was also discovered fixed on the floor which was used for
grinding the grains. There are many evidence of the social culture such as ruins
of kitchen with three Chullha, open courtyard as living rooms, although the houses
were built of stones but mud bricks were used in partition walls.
These houses were decorated with painting both from interior as well as exteriors.
The people of this culture used a distinct white painting black and red ware
and they have diffrent firing techniques of pottery in diffrent faces of time
where as the red ware remains the main associated ware in all the faces.
There are also findings of other associated wares such as black slipped wares, burnished
and unburnished ware, gray ware, tan ware and also red slipped wares. The site

unique is the white painting of the bulls which are also termed as "Ojiyana
