One can best view the Mansarovar and Ravana tal from the south west point of
the Kailash during parikarma. The grand view of GURLA MANDHATA,MANSAROVERA and
RAVANA TAL hypnotizes the onlooker into the subliminal aura.Ravana is claimed
to have prayed at this lake (ravana Tal/Rakshas Tal ) and had the audience with
SHIVA Manasarovar was created by Brahma at the request of great Rishis. This
is the place for holy ceremonial bath : oblation to the ancestors are offered
here. Both the lakes are full of Swans.
The scriptures reiterate that those who take the holy dip at Manasarovar and
carry out the Parikrama around Kailash are absolved of their sins to generations
and are absorbed into the supreme finality. To them, there is no rebirth, sorrows
or joys : they become one with ultimate - They are one with Shiva : They become
the Shiva. SHIVOHAM < SHIVAHAM.
This is one of the most important Pilgrim Centre for the Buddhist. They worship
DEMCHOOK (BUDDHA in fierce from) seated on the summit of Kailash. It is also
called Dharmapala. One version quotes the deity as a from of Shiva's Manifestation.
The description of the diety is more or less like Shiva. Devi is also given
a similar form like Parvati. They adore Kailash as KANGRINPOCHE and Manasarovar
as TSO MAPUM. Guru Rinpoche (The great Indian master PADMASAMBHAVA who introduced
Buddhisim) and Saint Milerapa are greatly revered here by Pilgrims. Since TANTRISM
runs through the main core of Buddhisim here, their customs and practices would
be found running close and parallel to Hindu traditions. Like the Indians they
also consider DOLMA (DEVI) and GAURI KUND (Thuk Zinghu) as holiest spots. Buddhist
strongly believe that Pilgrimage to this place liberates them to NIRVANA.Many
of them ********* when interpreted rationally would find commonality with Indian
Approach. The Jain acknowledge Kailash as ASHTAPADA and ADINATH RISHABHDEVA,
the first *******************attained Niravana here. A few claim that GURU NANAK
JI mediated here, **************CHU, there on the Nyanri range, stands an impresive
temple.
