Day1 : Distance 22 Kms. - Darchen to Diraphuk,
Night halt at Diraphuk.
As you approach Tarboche, which is the beginning point of the Parikrama, you
will come across the enlarge view of south face of Kailash. On this face, different
pattern appear which resemble three eyed face of Trinetra shiva. Behind this
profile, a series of steps like structure appear. These features become more
distinct and sharp as we draw closer.
This is one of the most enchanting sights of the Holy Mountain. Pilgrims perform
a small puja here. At tarboche, a huge flag pole comes into notice which is
erected annually by Buddhist pilgrims during Saga Dawa festival (During Full
Moon of May). Adjacent to this area lies the samadhis of great siddhas. From
this point, one can witness the grand views of Mansarovar Rakshasa Taal and
Gurla Mandhata (in south direction)
you will come across the Nyari Range (Chuku Gompa) on your left. Inside the
Gompa, there is marble statue. Many people claim, this is the statue of Guru
Nanak. As one marches along for another two miles, one comes across Footprints
of Lord Buddha (Tamdin Dunkhong). Kailash peak presents a fascinating view here,
a series of Halos circumscribing the peak. One of the four entrances is located
here. Many devotees claim to have witnessed colourful beams flashing out of
the entrance. As one crosses huge piles of Granite, Mount Kailash come into
grand view-resembles a silvery Tetrahedron. It is a breathtaking view.
No two versions of pilgrimage are the same. That cosmic play of Lord is stunning
absorbing and everlasting. Many asserts that they have heard the sound of cymbals
drums and anklets. After crossing kanjan river, one reaches diraphuk. From here,
you can audience the north face Mount Kailash. Here the lord present himself
in the most magnificient from in an exclusive style. The full Form and shape
is displayed. The entire mount present it's full form - a shiny silver dome,
a pure shiva linga.
Devotees fill intense spritual vibration and sink into total bliss with thousand
of visit us. One obtains a grander view from the top of the Diraphuk monastery.
Anyone, who witnesses this view in full moon, is transported to heaven.
The graceful shivalinga stands majestically in the centre with to guards on

Kailash is surrounded by other peaks - facing from right to left, they are :
Vajrapani, Holy Kailash,***************, Majughosha, Shivari and Norsung.
