Chandernahan Lake is also known as the Moon Lake
Duration : 11 Days / 10 Nights
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:
Reach Shogi which is 13 km before Shimla. Rest.
Day 2:
Short trek to Tara Devi to acclimatise your body to various temperature and
heights.
Day 3:
Drive to Hatu which is at and height at 10500 feet. Trek to kareena peak in
the evening.
Day 4:
Trek to Jau Bagh so your body gets used to the various heights and temperature
changes.
Day 5:
Drive from Hatu to Dhamwadi via Narkanda , Baghi, Khaderala, Sungri , Rohru,
Chirgaon, to reach Dhamwadi.Carry packed lunch to quest your hunger,Camp at
Dhamwadi.
Day 6:
Janglik to Dayara After breakfast we trek for which is 9 km km from Janglik.
You are passing through alps, thick pine forests.
Day 7: Dhamwadi - Janglik.
After an early breakfast we start our main trek . You would be walking almost
16 km to reach Janglik . The last village in this sector. You would be passing
through small villages , and on your right hand river Pabbar keeps you company.
Day 8: Janglik - Lithem - Chandernahan - Lithem
We start our trek to lake .
9 km is your total trek. You would be camping at Lithem. The lake is approximately
300 meters in length. Legend says the devta of Rohru known as Shikru has its
origin from the lake.
You are not allowed to wear anything in leather when venturing in lake vicinity.
No shoes or slippers too.
Day 9: Lithem - Burua Pass - above Burua village
Start your trek for you got to cross the pass before 11 AM as passing of (crosses
)after 12 noon is risky as wind velocity picks up.
Camp after crossing the Burua Pass. It's a steep climb. Camp above burua village.
Day 10: Burua Pass - Tapri - Sarahan
Start your trek for Tapri you trek for 3 km and then by road journey to Sarahan.
You are traveling 72 km by surface transport.
Day 11: Sarahan - Shogi
You are traveling by surface transport to reach Shogi camp. By evening.
