-| Introduction | -
In
context of Indian History, the Prehistoric Period starts from 400,000 to 200,000
B.C. The findings of stone tools of various kinds indicates the human presence
in those times. As such in India, no primary Prehistoric settlements have been
found. The evidences of Prehistoric ages are found in the form of several factory
sights. The earliest traces of modern Homo sapiens in India dates back to around
36,000 B.C., whereas the age of Primitive Man (Peolithic Age) lasted till 8000
B.C.
