Fatehpur
Sikri was the capital city of Mughal king Akbar between 1571 to 1585 AD. It
is said that at this place Akbar was foretold the birth of 3 sons by Muslim
saint SHAIKH SALIM CHISHTI. Akbar was so impressed that he pledged to build
a city at Sikri. Just 14 years later ,the city was abandoned and became deserted
and has remained that way ever since.Fatehpur Sikri is a perfectly preserved
example of a mughal city at the height of their glory.
